dolphins on 85% of our excursions Safari. In the morning
we set down on one of the beautiful sandbanks where one
can relax, swim or snorkel. We have plenty of good quality
snorkeling equipment and our experienced snorkeling guides
will show you the pristine coral reef, which teems with
tropical sea life. Instruction is also available for beginners.
After snorkeling cold drinks, fresh coconuts and local snacks.
After snorkeling we go to Kwale island where we have our
“desert island” restaurant. The buffet lunch
includes fish, slipper lobster, calamari, rice and sauces
all served hot from the grill. Our crew also prepares and
presents a gastronomic fruit tasting with a large selection
of delicious tropical fruits. Join our crew for a sail on
an “ngalawa”- a local canoe with outriggers
which has been carved from a single mango tree. As Safari
Blue comes to an end and we return by traditional lanteen
sail, the full splendor of the African sunset reveals itself.

Jozani Forest
Jozani Forest, 35km southeast of Zanzibar, boasts a rich
diversity of flora and fauna making it a most magical place.
A huge variety of wildlife lives in and around the forest
most notable are the large troops of endemic Red Colobus
Monkeys (Procolobus Kirkii) - one of the most endangered
monkey species in the world. While walking in the lush rainforest
you could also see other monkeys, colorful birds, butterflies
and if you are really lucky you might catch a glimpse of
the extremely rare Ader's Duiker.
The numerous walking trails cater for all levels of fitness
and encompass a whole spectrum of bio-diversity, ranging
from Evergreen Thickets to the Mangrove Boardwalks. Just
down the road from Jozani is Zala Park a small privately
run conservation and education project displaying some of
the indigenous animals of the region. Guests are asked to
make a small donation to enter with all proceeds being repatriated
back into the local community.
