Just a 25 minute boat ride to 3 exclusive different locations for an amazing guided snorkeling along the 5 mile Ukombe Reef.  All snorkel equipment is provided and all snorkel excursions are off our traditional Dhow boats.

Diving

MENAI BAY
In the southwest of Zanzibar there is a secluded conservation area with some of the best diving on the island.  This newly recognized World Wild Life Conservation area offers some of the best opportunity to see rejuvenating aquatic and terrestrial life.  Not only is the area full of sea life but there are also seven uninhabited islands filled with Mangrove lagoons, Baobab trees, and rare Coconut crabs.
In the shallow seas surrounding these islands there are reefs with a variety of corals stacked upon each other bringing some of the most beautiful and numerous amounts of tropical fish and other marine life to this area.  Seasonally, the Humpback whales come through the conservation area for around three months. The Conservation area also has resident pods of Humpback and Bottlenose dolphins. 

 
UKOMBE REEF
With over five nautical miles of the Ukombe Reef, there are at least 6 dive sites on this reef alone and only a 25 minute traditional dhow boat ride to all of them.  Coral walls stretch from eighteen meters up to five meters. Under water skyscrapers of soft and hard coral teaming with life start at the sea floor and tower to the surface of the sea.  This reef is also amazing for snorkelers, providing guest with a variety of ways to experience the magic of the Ukombe Reef.

KIPWAJINI
A spectacular seamount as deep as thirty meters, Kipwajini has three dive sights providing divers with three completely different diving experiences. Here you can see bigger game fish such as Barracuda, Tunas, and Sailfish circling the deep waters. As you dive the twelve to fifteen meter deep tip of the mount you will find coral gardens bursting with amazing anemones, soft corals, and shoals of tropical fish.  Other dives keep you guessing what is over the long hills of hard coral that form small oasis of coral fields.

LAIUNI
Another amazing sea mount with one of the largest coral garden mounts around has two more dive sights.  Here in the deeper waters of Menai Bay there is an array of life with coral baumies after coral baumies. You and your buddy may spread out amongst the group and explore your very own areas. Visibility reaches thirty meters plus where you can simply navigate yourself around by looking through the crystal blue waters for your next great discovery. Again an enormous amount of tropical fish, Lobsters, stingrays, and Nudibranches can be found at this sight, just like the rest of our amazing dive sights in the for-mentioned…. Here, though, you might catch a glimpse of our resident white tip reef shark.

What makes this Menai Bay area special is there is only one dive center that operates here; Fumba Blue World Diving, at Fumba Beach Lodge.  This gives you the chance to have a dive or snorkel amongst the turquoise blue waters all to yourself!

If dive packages are reserved in advance the full payment will be required even if diver is unable to participate in all dives. **Exception applies to payment of full if Blue World Diving cancels trip due to poor weather conditions or unforeseeable events on our behalf. Those dives will be deducted from the total cost of package. **

Komonda Island Picnic/Snorkel Excursion
Take a wonderful ride on our motorized dhow boats to the beautiful reefs for a snorkel tour, then on to the petrified coral islands of Komonda including a Mangrove forest tour.

 

Includes snorkel equipment, water and soft drinks (alcohol will be charged to your room), Buffet lunch prepared by our Fumba Lodge Chef.

Pungume Sandbank picnic/snorkel excursion
Another wonderful ride on a Dhow to the magnificent reefs and then to your own dessert Atoll with 360 degrees of beautiful turquoise blue ocean water; Includes snorkel equipment, water and soft drinks (alcohol will be charged to your room), Buffet lunch prepared by our Fumba Lodge Chef.

Deep Sea Fishing Excursion
 Troll the Zanzibar channel on the look out for King Spanish Mackerel, Barracuda, and Travalley, Sailfish.  We also offer traditional hand line fishing for small Rock Cod and Snapper.  Snacks and soft drinks are included (alcohol will be charged to your room).
