Starting years ago with a dream and tired of the cold weather in Northern Europe, Gijs de Raadt followed his dream and ended up in the country of his dreams, Tanzania!!

After a humble start with Moivaro Coffee Lodge followed a few years later with KIA Lodge, and now the newest addition a beach lodge located on the tropical island of Zanzibar (Fumba Beach Lodge).

Just 20 minutes away, in Arusha National Park, you can enjoy spectacular views from the top of Mount Meru (4565m) or go out for a day's walking safari amongst the giraffes, buffalos, elephants, monkeys and the rich vegetation, accompanied by a local ranger.

Kia Lodge Kilimanjaro , Tanzania

KIA Lodge is conveniently located only a few minutes drive from Kilimanjaro International Airport. The lodge is situated in the center between Moshi and Arusha and in the heart of beautiful savannah scenery that is so typical for East Africa. The Lodge is your first introduction to or last impression of Tanzania where you find friendly service, Zanzibar style reception, Makonde wood carvings in the rooms and the famous Tinga Tinga paintings in our tropical restaurant.

From the lodge you have a beautiful view on the majestic and spectacular Mt. Kilimanjaro which shows her top mostly early in the monring and at sundown. The bar is an ideal place to drink an ice-cold Kilimanjaro Beer while the sunset lights up Mt. Kilimanjaro. You can also choose to relax at the swimming pool on a top of the hill with views of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Meru, the Blue Mountains and the Masaai plains.
